It really began in January of 2002. I was in denial and could not believe that my, all important AncientSites could come to an end. It happened at my dismay on March 30th. Suddenly, it was gone. Of course, there was Ancient Vines, but it just was not home. It was at best the next best substitute. Then Ancient Vines collasped.

The only thing left for a while were sprouts that each had a remnant of home but each still lacking the makeup to be of any satisfaction. Fortunately, I still had files left on my computer from the defunct AS and from time to time I could take a peek to feel that home feeling of what once was.

Slowly the longing drew me to reassemble some of what I had grown to love. Before long I had a reasonable facsimile of my old Roman pages. Then as I glimpsed from time to time, I decided to include some of the features that I might want if I had been the creator of the original site. Before I knew it, I had incorporated things that I enjoy, having nothing to do with Ancient Places.

The name I had choosen was in fact Ancient Places. Now that had to be changed but, the emphasis was still on Ancient Places and in particular on Rome. Thence, the name Valius' World was born. It was to include pages for kids, as I could never leave them out. I would also include a long time ambition, the "Sound Off" pages. Music? Why not include some of my favorites and hope I reach some that might share the same. It was here that I turned away from myself and started thinking about what you might be interested in. Recipes, Links, Free Stuff and Fun Stuff were derived with you in mind. Then I thought about family, which included personal RL family as well as cyber family. Sports, Members, Awards and Friends had to be included. The Online Store speaks for itself.

As I had the fun of creating whatever this is, I also had to come to grips with the realization that it could go on forever. It had already tripled the capacity that I originally foresaw. Now some how, I wonder if it will ever see the light of day. As they say, "Where there's a will...there's a way"...this I will have to see for myself.

I only hope that as time permits, not to mention money, this site will allow for a more interactive environment. In the meantime, I will devote my free time to the fun of relaying your thoughts and displaying them to the best of my ability.

NOW FOR A BRIEF EXPLANATION OF EACH SECTION!

1. Valius' Rome....................The remants and redevelopment of pages as they were an the old AncientSites.

2. The Library.......................The remants and redevelopment of the Library as it was in the old AncientSites.

3. Fun Stuff...........................This includes any type of fun stuff from any source. Games, Puzzles, Writings, Clip Art or anything else that might lighten the burden.

4. Free Stuff...........................These are sources as found for anything free. They have not been tested for FREE or strings attached. It is hoped to get feed back to be posted.

5. The Online Store................Well, if I can make some loose change on this deal, then I might be able to keep this site up and running. Please support it if you can see fit.

6. My Favorite Links.............These links were meant to include things of interest, Artistic pages andanything that my former AS family has done.

7. Friends...............................This is of course includes former AS friends as well as new friends that may come to be.

8. Partners..............................I'm not quite sure what this will develope into but, I had in mind to enlist business or persons who have a mutual understanding or interest.

9. Awards...............................The only way of rewarding people that might contribute to the same goals as will be established in this forum.

10. Music................................My favorites and it is hoped, yours. Even if not, just enjoy.

11. Poetry...............................A wide range of poets are included from well know, past and contemporary as well as us pretenders. As always, old AS poets are included.

12. Sound Off.........................A place to fight back at the injustices that have befallen us consumers.

13. Members...........................Anyone who has the intrepidity to declare themselve part of this madness might want to look here.

14. Recipes..............................A lifetime of cooking and drink mixing went into this section from many sources.

15. Sports................................Originally a dedication for a few could expand to many.

16. Just 4 Kids.........................My heart and soul just had to have a place on these pages.
